BRIEF HISTORY OF DYFED CLEANING SERVICES
Dyfed
Cleaning Services is a private company which emerged some years ago from
the amalgamation of a group of laundries and drycleaners situated in
Carmarthen, Tenby, Haverfordwest and Milford Haven.
 The Milford Haven Factory, which was originally opened in 1923, is the
only one remaining - consolidation and rationalisation into one
efficient Production unit has dictated this.
We service the whole of South and West Wales from Aberystwyth in the
North to Brecon, Cardiff and Chepstow in the East - we have eight vans
and six shops to cover this area.
The Company has approximately 85 employees - We are an important
part of the South and West Wales Holiday Industry Servicing a wide range
of Hotels, Guest Houses and Holiday Parks together with all levels of
industry and commerce - the motor trade - the Ministry of Defence -
Local Authorities and our local NHS Trust. This is of course tied in
with the holiday industry of which we are an important part.
The Company has not always been privately owned - it has been part of
two large public Companies the last of which was a Sheffield Steel
Company called Edgar Allen and Co with which we were involved until
1973. This contact has given us some fairly advanced ideas for a Company
of our size.
The Company is a member of the Textile Service Association, this
organisation gives us the very latest technical information and support
consistent with our aim to operate in the standard set out in the
industries "Code of Practice".
